Apprenticeships Can Offer Considerable Advantages
Senior Manager at NMB-Minebea UK, Andy White
Following the collapse of traditional apprenticeships in the 1980s, and the reintroduction of the 'modern apprenticeship' in 1994, there has, especially in the last few years, been a growing interest from government and business in apprenticeships as an excellent option and a potential route to a university course.
There is no right or wrong way to extend your education, but an apprenticeship can offer some considerable advantages - and are better suited to many students. Apprenticeships are certainly not a 'second best' choice. For example, many of NMB-Minebea's former apprentices are now working in key positions within our business including Senior Management, Supervision, Engineering and Technical roles. Successful apprentices can also go on to gain further qualifications, including degrees, plus a host of specialist skills training.
In addition apprentices will earn a competitive salary, receive paid holidays and learn specific industry skills.
